Welcome to the Sonning Scarecrows!
Each adult attending should buy a trail map for £4, which gives the locations of the Scarecrows and entrance to the gardens. The money raised go towards funding various village amenities.
Car parks, loos and refreshment areas are shown on the map page.

Sonning Scarecrows is an event held every two years, where villagers of Sonning build Scarecrows (not just Worzel Gummidge types, but almost any sort of model) for viewing by the public. Pictures of Scarecrows from previous years can be found on this website. Last time we had over 70 Scarecrows and anticipate similar numbers this year.
We also open some of the village gardens to visitors.
This is a great day out for all ages, as evidenced by the increasing numbers of visitors each time it has been held.
Sonning-on-Thames is a village in Berkshire, just outside Reading - Postcode: RG4 6UL.
The 2010 Scarecrow event made just over £20,000 net income - what a fantastic effort.
Thank you to all who helped in organising, making scarecows, opening gardens, helping with teas and car parks and all the other jobs needed for the weekend.
Thank you also to all who came to look and helped us raise this money.
To date, the following sums have been spent/allocated:
£1,100 - Sonning After School Club - for a special security lock
£3,863 - Sonning Cricket Club - for practice nets
£2,000 - Pearson Hall - for the new automated hatch
£1,680 - Goals/kit for youth football on King George's Field
£ 700 - Sonning School - TV equipment
£5,500 - for a new bus shelter at the north end of Pound Lane
In addition, we are looking at supporting the Diamond Jubilee events in 2012.
