Welcome to the Twyford Beer Festival!
Can you sponsor us?
For every barrel we get a sponsor for it means more money for the charity. If you can help then please let us know ASAP by
contacting us.
We are very pleased to anounce that Chris at Loddon Brewery has very kindly agreed to act as one of our sponsors and we are very happy to announce that we have had sponsorship from a number of local companies some of those wish to remain anonymous!
Look out for details of the special beer Chris and the team are brewing (Summer Snowflake 4.1% )- we will be one of the very few places to try the new beer!
Our friend Chris Bingham has just finished a brew for us and we will be offering his new 'Binghams Coffee Stout' - see the tasting notes on the Beer List page!
He has very kindly donated this to us - many thanks Chris!
Our friends at the Butlers Pub in Reading are looking after the beer barrels in their cellar before we bring it over to the festival site so I would just like to say a big thanks to the cellar team there and to our good friend Lynne.
A big thank you to Jamie and his team at Avitel Construction
Hunt & James Landscaping
for donating thier time and scaffolding for us to put our barrels on. Look forward to seeing your team at the festival for some beers on us!
Thanks to our friends Jo and Alan for handling the food side on the saturday - we will have some great roast lamb and spit roasted hog for those with a large appetite!
Jo is a proffesional chef so you can be assured of some realy good food to accompany the beer!
This is our first festival and will run as an annual event. Every year we will choose a charity or charities to sponsor - this year ALL the profits from the event will be going to our friends at the Male Cancer Charity - 'Orchid' - www.orchid-cancer.org.uk. Please take the time to look at their site.
Orchid exists to save men's lives from testicular, prostate and penile cancers through pioneering research and promoting awareness. Orchid plays a leading role in the fight against male cancer through research and awareness and by supporting patients.
It is a sobering thought that each year, over 37,000 men will be diagnosed with a male-specific cancer, from sons to grandfathers, all men face the risk of prostate, penile or testicular cancer.
About us
We are a group of friends who enjoy REAL beer! All of us are volunteers, and if you would like to get involved then please go to the contacts page and fill in the 'Volunteer form'. The team behind this festival are all well experienced in running much larger festivals - Reading Beer Festival, for instance, so you can be assured of a properly organised event.
If you would like to be notified of when the site is updated then please give us your email address on the 'contact us' page - we will not share your details with ANY other organisation.
The Event.
The event this year is being held in the Scout Headquarters in Twyford - see the directions page, there is a map and suggested methods of travel. We are very grateful to the Scouts for allowing us to run the event at their HQ - its a good sized hall and has excellent access for any of our disabled friends who may wish to come.
On Saturday 5th June a Hog Roast will be available for those with an appetite, and on Sunday (6th) the food will be available from our friends the Scouts at the Donkey Derby.
On Sunday 6th June, the Scouts are holding their annual 'Donkey Derby' and we will be opening our doors for those visiting the donkey Derby to come and try our refreshments!
We look forward to seeing you there!
